If your child is absent from school, please email your child’s Homeroom Teacher and Ms. Hinton-Wright: itanya.archie@k12.dc.gov. For an absence to be excused, documentation must be submitted in writing to the school’s attendance staff within 5 business days of the student’s return from the absence.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19, follow all isolation guidance from DC Health and your child’s healthcare provider. Individuals who test positive on a COVID-19 test cannot report for in-person school activities and should remain at home during their isolation period. This includes students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For the latest information on what to do if your child tests positive for COVID-19, please review the Isolation and Quarantine Guidance Table on the DCPS website.

KEY SCIENCE FAIR - Friday March 31

Welcome to the 2023 Key School Science Fair season! This is your child's opportunity to explore a science topic of interest, while gaining an early foundation in scientific practices.

Science Fair projects will be required for students in grades 4th and 5th but optional for students in grades Pre-K-3rd Grade. We are also excited to announce that the Fair will be held in-person in the cafeteria and gym.

The Science Team will continue to provide a wealth of project guidance, tutorials, and other necessities with our Key Science Fair Website! This is your one stop shop for all things Science Fair.

Starting immediately, we will be meeting with students to inspire and refine ideas for science fair projects as well as assist students in the early stages of their projects. These initial conferences can occur before or after project proposals are submitted. If you would like to schedule a virtual conference outside of regular school hours, please contact the science team at keysciencefair@gmail.com

Thank you for your incredible support, and happy experimenting!
